The trio of Candin Marks, Dax Garner, and Lee Garner, otherwise known as CanDax Productions, are planning to relocate their company to Downtown Las Vegas. CanDax plays in just about every creative sandbox–video game production, independent film production, and novel publication. On a sunny January afternoon during their recent visit, we spent five minutes talking with them about passion, community, and Downtown revitalization.
What’s your passion?
We all share the same passion, really. Creating. We’ve always been creating.
How does your passion affect other people in the community?
Sometimes all people need to be propelled in their own creative realm is inspiration from others.
What was your previous perception of Las Vegas?
There’s high energy here, sometimes positive, sometimes negative. There’s something here that’s unknown. There’s a lot of risk here.
How has your visit changed your perception of Las Vegas?
Now there’s an ethical aspect to the energy here.
What inspires you about what’s happening with the revitalization of Downtown?
It’s a community. Everyone is helping everyone. There are no boundaries. There are no limitations. Rather than asking, “Can I have a say?” people are like, “Please join us. Let me hear your ideas.” Just to be included, to be able to be heard feels amazing. It’s new. It’s inspiring. It’s motivating. It’s positive.
